Caynug Oh wow what a ride back into the more simple good past. Nostalgic, back to the good feels I remember growing up. A huge collection of sounds that I really enjoy! Hard to decide between Missing Something, Ferocious Love and Easy as my favorite songs on the collection! They all spark something special and nostalgic to me. I also really enjoy "Their Way" with all it's ambiental slow and easy to relax to goodness aswell. Really laid back on the production aswell! Keep up the good work! Favorite track: Easy.

about

"A wonderful compilation of 30 years of material produced by this little known gem of a label. At 19 tracks it's quite the epic listen that charts changing styles and times through a standard that is consistently high throughout, without a dud song here."

Track Name: Rogue Beauty - I Choose
This is something I choose and I have nothing to lose.

To give up and move on is the coward's way out or so they say,
But when you see nothing more there can be no other way
And in the end no one else's views mean a damned, thing
Their theories are not the life that you're in.

This is something I choose and I have nothing to lose.

Believe what we know and make sure we know what we believe
And remain open to views,
Listen to learn and never to deceive
And in the end no one else's rules can govern our mind,
Learning our own lessons leaves theories behind.

This is something I choose and I have nothing to lose.
Track Name: B-Vox - Eastern Eye
We watched the ships that passed in the night,
While the desert sand cooled down in the light
We looked to the east and felt a gentle breeze
Just like the desert ships that we had hoped to meet

Eastern Eye - we looked for that Eastern Eye

This land's so dry you look to the wet
For aiding in your cause, it's better in the west
Oasis in the sea - the river is the Nile.
We felt a gentle breeze - were happy for a while

Eastern Eye - we looked for that Eastern Eye
Track Name: Bluff - Go Home Now
Failing to establish our emotional position,
We are in each others arms awaiting a decision,
And it's hard not to imagine a happy ever after,
But we've got to stop this kidding,
It's the memory of laughter

Do you mind if I go home now?

Standing on the platform I'm awaiting my connection,
And my thoughts turn to my journey and our separate destination,
And it's hard not to imagine a look over the shoulder,
But we've got to stop the kidding,
You know we've both said that it's over

Do you mind if I go home now?
Track Name: Rogue Beauty - (Burn Down) Icon Park
Roll up folks for the sycophants' show,
All hail our heroes wherever they go,
No detail too small to be lost for view,
No thought of comparison to me or to you,

Whose fault is all this sparkle and hollow fuss,
We all need heroes but do they need us?,
The deal goes both ways but when is it straight?,
We should think hard about what we call great,

The value of celebrity is in the revenue stream,
Uncle Walt's pals know about dollars made from dreams,
Entrance fee/ Concession time,
Icon Park is their goldmine.
Burn it down.

All details of life are offered for envy,
Our mundane lives no comparison to see,
We gaze and admire - our disappointment so plain,
Unreality drives us on and then back again.

Roll up folks for the PR man's game,
Let's wallow in the glory of a name,
Thank you Hello and Gossip and Morning TV,
Forget about real life and lose the real me.

The value of celebrity is in the revenue stream,
Uncle Walt's pals know about dollars made from dreams,
Entrance fee/ Concession time,
Icon Park is their goldmine.
Burn it down.
Track Name: Senses Reeling - Foreign or Poor
Over 40 years of warnings,
Investigations and Enquiries,
Wringing hands and words of outrage,
And just a document to show for it,
And no one understands it.

Cladding, sprinklers and stay put,
They’re all there front and centre,
So are lessons loud and clear,
But it’s easier to defer,
Recommend but don’t make law.

The race is always on,
Most economical advantaged tender,
Leads right down there to the floor,
To keep the have nots listed low,
They simply have nowhere to go.

Feels like it’s the law,
You don’t count if you’re foreign or poor,
We can talk forever
But it has got to change
It has simply got to change.
Track Name: A Long Valley - Their Way
A walk in a cold Forest,
Left for dead and alone,
A darkened logic of terror,
By one so 'wronged' and adrift
Our anger oversplilled
All hopes of being healed.

An open loving heart forgives,
Refusing bitterness for good,
Believing freedom always lives,
As hatred never could,
I wished I could see it that way,
But only burned to see her pay

An image burns - you look away,
Aghast we close our eyes,
Details too dark and arcane,
Someone else's lurid headline,
But real and too close this time,
No story, no drama just real crime

And thank God we'll never know
Let's pray we'll never see,
The decision they have to make,
The person they have to be,
For all that we might say,
It's lonely dealing with it their way
I'll always admire her for her way
A beautiful spirit from her way
That let her live on beyond that day
Track Name: Almost Charlotte - Hope
Know every stretch of the shoreline
Every footstep a way to forget
Nothing new in how I feel
Left adrift without a course

Every lost soul has its destination,
Every ship has its cargo of hope,
And if hope is what we're left with,
I will follow you home,
I will follow you home

Ever since you learned to put me down in front of other people,
All you've ever done is put me down in front of other people,
I can hide behind my silence now their eyes are looking at me,
Granted by your soft derision pointing at me,
Are you happy?

Could you be happy?
Track Name: Senses Reeling - Ferocious Love
There’s a real debate – waiting in store,
If we open up – and look around
To face a view – that won’t survive like before,
Long after denier’s voices are drowned

If we’re afraid - of a choice to cut down,
To recognise - our demand’s not the rule.
To see the planet as our village and town
Then there’s only one winner in this duel

No longer hugging trees or forever saying please,
No figure will make it right, no bribe will quell the fight
This place defines us and cannot disappear
We’ve got to talk

No bigger income streams in boardrooms now,
Nothing more certain to make Governments hear,
Let’s be at the table and not crying foul,
No longer victims, not bulldozed by fear

There’ll be alliances where they’d not think to look,
Leaving divisions to one side
A fight this size can’t be by the book,
Compromise and profit can’t always collide

Faith in our invincibility ignores a power so plain to see,
No figure will make it right, no bribe will quell the fight
This place defines us and cannot disappear
We’ve got to talk

Ferocious Love
Track Name: Bluff - Attitude
I find your attitude so typical,
When times are hard you are so cynical,
Blame the hardship on the people who suffer the mos,t
if they had more sense they wouldn't get in this mess,
With the good times you are so hypocritical,
Let's help the poor they are so pitiful,
Money to burn and a sense of charity,
Let's dig in our pockets for pity's sake

You should know me better than that,
I won't be blinded by generosity,
You should know me better than that

Your sense of justice is one sided,
You patronise and are misguided,
Your nose is in focus but the world is blurred,
believe that life owes you a living,
You kid yourself that you've decided,
You are at peace and you like it,
There's nothing to concern your cosy little world,
On the outside there is no one suffering

You should know me better than that,
I won't be blinded by generosity,
You should know me better than that

I don't like your attitude
Track Name: Senses Reeling - Easy
Did we choose to buy an easier life?
I don’t think so,
Say yes to reveal our every move?
Or just not no,
Yet here we are watched,
Their profits at no cost,
Are we grateful for our easier life?
Some say it’s hard to walk away,
When it’s the heart of everyday,
They are watching but so should we

Is it smart for everything to connect?
Well maybe,
For them and us we must question what’s next,
And what should be,
We’re capable after all,
Hit their pride and they could fall,
Take back control of our owned life,
Is it arch manipulation?
Or just friction elimination?
New labels for an easier ride

Just because you can doesn’t mean that you should,
Easy isn’t better, easy isn’t good
(TV, meter, phone/You’re never on your own)

They say it’s not sinister but simply a trade,
Well it could be,
Your data for your time saved,
Well we’ll see,
Are the powers there to protect?
Are the ones that we elect,
Sleepwalking through this easier life?
We don’t need them anyway,
We decide what we give away,
In return for our automated life

Do we know now what we ‘volunteer’?
We must doubt it,
Who uses it and what they see and hear?,
Or much about it,
Surveillance or benign?
Do we see the creepy line?
That provides our happy easier life,
Division and polarisation
Our one divided nation,
Won’t make for an easier life

Just because you can doesn’t mean that you should,
Easy isn’t better, easy isn’t good
(Dopamine, comfort, ease/Everyone’s everyday disease)
(Ask, learn, implore and shout/Always know what it’s all about)
Track Name: Rogue Beauty - Anyone
Mr Tunnel Vision's always rushing ahead,
No looking sideways or hearing what's said,
Don't look you in the eye and that's just as well,
Protect the sanctity of lies we tell,

The lights keep on shining but they don't show the way
Or make any difference between night and day,
The lights keep on shining but they don't show the way
Or make any difference.

And no one hears you scream beneath the neon sun,
Out here in the crowd you could be anyone.

Just keep your teeth gritted and give us a grin,
Then no one will ask about the state you're in,
Don't want to be open or know why you came,
Knowing out there there's so many the same.

The lights keep on shining but they don't show the way
Or make any difference between night and day,
The lights keep on shining but they don't show the way
Or make any difference.

And no one hears you scream beneath the neon sun,
Out here in the crowd you could be anyone.
Track Name: Senses Reeling - Missing Something
A bigger house,
A newer car,
A clearer sense of who you are

Each seconds’ news,
Each new portrait,
An urgent call for more before it’s too late

Chorus
Looking forward to a time,
When all your dreams stand in line,
When your woes are pushed aside,
Doubts replaced by pride,
Positives outweigh all doubts,
And every problem is worked out,
Till then,
We’re always missing something,
Missing something.

A narrow path,
A lesser time,
Now’s their moment and I had mine.

We strive for more,
But it’s still less,
We’re always still looking to impress.

Chorus

Always frightened that we’re missing something,
The constant fear that we’re missing something,
Are we the selfie interest generation?,
With a missing something motivation
Track Name: Almost Charlotte - Rainfall
Watch rainfall on the window,
As the sun disappears behind a feeling of regret,
It's too late to turn back now,
Got to make the most of loneliness,
Wipe away a tear when you see a darkened cloud appear,
Try to understand that life alone is nothing to fear

You may face strange situations,
The people are friendly but they always ask why,
You won't always be questioned,
But friends will want to know why you cry,
Wipe away a tear when you see a darkened cloud appear,
Try to understand that life alone is nothing to fear

Try to understand all they want to do is help you,
Only want to help you,
Only want to help you,
Only want to help in their own special way

You may find their answers useless,
But at least they thought while you've been crying,
Made arrangements for the future,
But at least they've shown that they're trying,
Wipe away a tear when you see a darkened cloud appear,
Try to understand that life alone is nothing to fear

Try to understand all they want to do is help you,
Only want to help you,
Only want to help you,
Only want to help in their own special way

I can feel it where the rain falls,
I can feel it on my skin,
I can point a finger to the clouds,
And say that's where the rain begins,
Feel the rainfall on my skin
Track Name: Senses Reeling - Someone Else
The picture shows,
A whole new person that we don’t know but,
Someone there who used to be

And now it’s faded,
Yet nothing real is ever lost forever,
And we must take the time to see

It’s some surprise,
To see them young, carefree and vibrant,
But ask yourself why that should be?

We’re so wrapped up,
In our little dramas and distractions,
To look beyond and break free

Someone else – that they were,
Someone else – that we see
Someone else - that they are
Someone else – that we will be

It’s like time starts,
Only when we choose to notice,
All before’s just illusion lost

It’s only when,
We hold a hand so fragile and fading,
That we realise the true cost

Someone else – that they were,
Someone else – that we see
Someone else - that they are
Someone else – that we will be

When who we know,
Is just the pure shell remaining,
We must celebrate the soul

It’s a matter of time,
And there but for the grace of God,
Compassion’s all to have and hold

Someone else – that they were,
Someone else – that we see
Someone else - that they are
Someone else – that we will be
Track Name: Almost Charlotte - Among The People
She takes her fashion from the people in the streets,
That's where her passions lie - among the people,
She has great friendships that end within a week,
She likes to get involved but not distracted

If you tell her that she's wrong she'll often smile and say I know,
If you point she will follow unless you tell her where to go,
If you tell her to stop she will stop and stand and peer,
But don't take her for granted - she's not that type of girl

She talks to strangers without fear it's like a game,
That's where her passion lies - among the strangers,
When a friendship has to end she'll shed no tears,
She likes to get involved but not distracted

If you talk to her of love she'll often turn and hide her eyes,
If you ask her for a dance she will dance until you say goodbye,
If you ask for her address she'll say she has no fixed abode,
But don't take her for granted - she's not that type of girl

In a way it's a shame cos she's the kind of girl we've both been after,
In the evenings you could often hear a voice loud above the laughter,
In a way I feel our chances would be better if we both were total strangers,
Strangers are the people she will notice
Strangers are the people she will favour
Strangers are the people she will notice
Strangers are the people she will favour

In a way it's a shame cos she's the kind of girl we've both been after,
In the evenings you could often hear a voice loud above the laughter,
In a way I feel our chances would be better if we both were total strangers,
Track Name: Senses Reeling - Some Small Control
When things unravel
And roll away,
We need sometimes to feel we steer
Come what may

To take a grip,
Some small control,
Do something to help,
A needed role

Chorus
We think we’re in charge,
It’s all illusion and no plan,
Bit by bit it falls away,
And we grasp at what we can,
We think we’re in charge,
It’s all illusion and no plan,
Bit by bit it falls away,
And we grasp at what we can.

What we can do,
Will balance out,
All that we can’t change,
Our every doubt

A gesture here,
A helping hand,
Heading off what we cannot face,
In falling sand

Chorus

We’ll take heart from some small control
Track Name: Rogue Beauty - Friends & Enemies
Awards are being won for showing people asleep,
There are standards below ground that everyone must keep,
The bar's set so low that the drinks are under the house,
It's a world where people with nothing to say still shout.

What does the X stand for?
Where will it end?
Victorian Freak Show returns.

Our enemies may not get us in the end,
We're in far more danger from our friends.

We wander anaesthetised from night to day,
In a fog of trivia that leaves us with nothing to say,
Except which celebrities dance, cook and skate,
We're all too drowsy to snap out before it's too late.

What does the X stand for?
Where will it end?
Victorian Freak Show returns.

Our enemies may not get us in the end,
We're in far more danger from our friends
Track Name: Bluff - Switch Off
When you know that you can't have what you want,
It turns out to be what you need,
Growing vital as you look at others,
You wish that it would fade

Sometimes I wish I had the guts,
Just to switch it off,
When the walls close in

It seems to taunt you before your eyes,
There's always someone else,
Why them when you know that you always try?,
You remember how it felt

Sometimes I wish I had the guts,
Just to switch it off,
When the walls close in

No one grows when they're standing still,
Taking chances moves you forward,
No risks mean that good things fade and die,
A lesson that you must learn

Sometimes I wish I had the guts,
Just to switch it off,
When the walls close in
Track Name: Senses Reeling - Your Place
A 30-year-old electoral bribe
Is still hurting today
Back then a few got to win but since so
Many have been left to pay

And the voices of moral outrage have all cried
And questioned why nothing ‘s changed well
They say they tried
but the problem’s
Too big and too old,
And too complex we’re told,
It’s their fault and not ours,
We’re stuck with no powers.

Easy to say that we all deserve our own space
But it looks like they’re keeping you in your place.

They were told what you get you bank
The councils towed the line
So building stopped and it‘s stalled since
Landlords are doing fine

And the voices of the young are left hung out to dry
Are prompting so many pledges
But still they cry,
that the problem’s
Too big and too old,
And too complex we’re told,
It’s their fault and not ours,
We’re stuck with no powers.

Easy to say that we all deserve our own space
But it looks like they’re keeping you in your place

Easy to say that we all deserve our own space
But it looks like they’re keeping you in your place

A hundred years ago - rent control and mortgages for all
And yet after 30 years we‘re still,
Lacking nothing but will.
